From Candids to Headshots: The Ultimate Corporate Event Photography Experience

My crew and I recently had the opportunity to photograph a two-day corporate event for Capital Group, a leading Asset Management company. And let me tell you, it was one whirlwind of a ride!

My team and I arrived early on the first day at the luxurious JW Marriott Downtown Los Angeles to capture corporate event coverage and candid shots of the breakout sessions. We used a mix of candid shots and posed group photos to showcase the energy and excitement of the attendees. We were kept insanely busy running around, capturing every moment, and trying to tell the story of the event in a creative way.

The second day was even more demanding as it was equally focused on breakout sessions, candids, and capturing the headshots of approximately 130 team members. We had to do the headshots session late in the day, which made things a bit more intense. It was challenging to get the right lighting and ensure that each person was photographed at their best, but we managed to pull it off.

However, things got interesting when we had to deal with three people who kept changing outfits and returning to the line for more photographs. It was a unique challenge because not only did we have to contend with the extra time it took to capture their headshots, but we also ended up with multiple photographs of them in different outfits.

After the headshots, we continued capturing candid shots of the attendees networking and engaging with each other. And let me tell you, these folks know how to party. The second day concluded with the banquet and main event, which my team covered extensively, capturing all the evening’s key moments and important details.

One of the job’s biggest challenges was managing the logistics of the shoot. There were so many moving parts, from coordinating with the event organizers, the venue staff, and the attendees. But my team remained calm and professional, and we were able to deliver outstanding results for our client.

What a crazy two days, but it’s what we do, and the final results are always worth it. If you’re planning to hire a corporate photography team for your next event, consider George W.
